Autumn fills me with a happy feeling

Autumn here is a lovely thing. The colours are rich and deep and the weather is the best all year - it has a warm glow with a bite in the air to encourage indoor snuggly time and getting out the knitting. I love Autumn and I wish I took the time to celebrate it more. A few photos of progress on the house. Sunsets and trying to choose a colour for the front door . On the deck...thirfty collections are mounting... a church pew, some cast iron ball and claw feet, a wood painted sign and a wooden trough.

House on a hill...

At considerable strain on the poor wee camera, this shot was taken about 2km from the house. It shows the hill on which we are pirched and the bush that we call our own... Not much detail of the house, but the exterior is almost done and we are starting on the inside. The little cottage we stay in is just off camera on the right and the helluva steep drive is where our water tank is kept.

Summer progress

It was a glorious day when our builder turned up on site and the work began in early November!

Over the last few weeks we have seen the build progress in spurts. That is what it's like when you do a build - a big exciting thing like the wood beam will come in - and you say "yay!" and then it seems like no progress at all for days and days and you say "what's up?" and then the rain starts and you freak out about your wooden beam that's exposed to the elements and you say "I can't do this!" The rain stops and the sun comes out and the roof goes on and you say "Praise God!"
